Fixxer's pick: Passive-Aggressive Woman seeking Apathetic Male for Co-dependancy

Passive-Aggressive Woman seeking Apathetic Male for Co-dependancy - w4m

 z6xfh-1234567890@pers.craigslist.org

I am a lonely, desperate and pathetic woman looking for an apathetic asshole male to start a seriously abusive co-dependent relationship. I am crazy, over-reactive, over-analytical, and I will get really jealous if I dare see your eyes stray remotely to another person. I have a lot of personality issues stemming from my father. If interested, run.

The world's worst car was for sale on craigslist. (reblogged

Words Fail Me

The World’s Worst Car Is For Sale On Craigslist

Someone in East Kentucky has grafted the cab and hood of a 1962 truck onto a 1990s Pontiac Grand Am and has put it up for sale online.

for sale 1962 international truckcar, has every optional that a car could have ,has frontwheel drive driveline disk brakes all around , has air bags that are in working order has oldsmobile dash with tilt cruise , power seats , air -did work but i low of freon due from setting -can drive it anywhere, every light works as well as new cab lights allready has grandam door handles installed and work great, has alloy wheels and this truck has a good title which is titled as a international, has a grand am rear with the original duel exhaust, car is fuel injected and there are no check engine lights on?everthing is in working order but the aircondition is low of freon call if interested to much to list lots of time put in this car , have to many other projects to ,do so call 606 456 xxxx -no emails please -price is firm -have probly twice as much invested .-this vehicle will be sold where is as is…thanks

Why someone would even let this thought go through their mind without immediately dismissing it is beyond my comprehension.

Actually acting on this bizzare impulse and spending God knows how much time and money trying to put this Frankenstein's abortion together will forever be a mystery.

The really, really scary part?
Someone will probably buy the damn thing.

Craigslist Goes After Website Developers Using Its Data

Craigslist Goes After Website Developers Using Its Data

Photograph by Tim Shaffer/Landov
Craigslist, founded by Craig Newmark, filed a lawsuit last week against two website developers.
The Craigslist logo is a peace sign, but the company has been dropping legal bombs recently.
The San Francisco-based company, which runs online bulletin boards, filed a lawsuit last week against two website developers, 3Taps and PadMapper, which tap into Craigslist’s data without permission. Craigslist also sent at least one cease-and-desist notice to another developer this month.
While Craigslist may have a hippie persona, cultivated by the affable founder Craig Newmark, the website has shown little love for programmers who try to build tools that connect with the company’s feeds. Craigslist has historically shut out applications that siphon its listings with legal threats, as it did in May with Craigspal, and by closing holes in its systems, as it did in 2008 with CraigsFindr.
This approach contrasts with the strategy of companies such as Apple, EBay, Facebook and Google, which are jockeying for the admiration of developers in the hopes of creating the largest “app ecosystem.” There is no shortage of tech conferences catering to developers.
Craigslist has remained a leader in online classifieds, partly because of its protective strategy. Google and Facebook, while having sleeker designs, were unable to pull people away from Craigslist’s orbit with their efforts, which were shut down. AOL, too, may be gearing up to push harder into local listings, according to comments by AOL Chief Executive Officer Tim Armstrong today.
Craigslist, which did not respond to a request for comment, said in its lawsuit that 3Taps and PadMapper “are unlawfully and unabashedly mass-harvesting” Craiglist postings. By taking Craigslist assets without permission, these companies are competing for profit and flouting Craigslist’s restrictions that keep each city’s board separate in order to foster community, the company said in the lawsuit.
3Taps offers developers a service that aggregates Craigslist feeds. It also runs a search engine called Craiggers, which has the tagline, “craigslist data, better than craigslist!” 3Taps did not respond to a request for comment.
PadMapper uses 3Taps services for its apartment-listings search engine, which relies on Craigslist data to show where rentals are located on a map. Eric DeMenthon, who runs the company from his apartment in Mountain View, California, said in an e-mail that his income from running PadMapper has barely turned a profit. He is unsure how he will afford to defend himself in court, he wrote.
“I would have much preferred to just talk with them and figure out something we were both happy with, but they weren’t willing to meet,” DeMenthon wrote. “A single meeting could have made this a non-issue for both of us.”
Craigslist offered to let PadMapper license its data, DeMenthon said. The license costs $5,000 per year and gives Craigslist 10 percent of an app’s revenue, according to a copy of the agreement obtained by Bloomberg.
Jeff Kastner, who received a cease-and-desist letter this month but was not named in the lawsuit, wasn’t offered a similar licensing deal for his series of Craigslist-powered websites, he wrote in an e-mail. He ran about 50 websites that Craigslist targeted. Kastner is in the process of taking down his sites, which earned $24,000 from Google ads over two years, he said.
“It was never a primary source of income,” Kastner wrote. “Not worth the hassle of a lawsuit.”

craigslist staff puts some clarification to the pets adoption issue.

pet SALES are prohibited clstaff° > 07/18 22:23:09
Our prohibited items page lists the following that should not be sold on craigslist:

Household pets of any kind including dogs, cats, primates, cage birds, rodents, reptiles, amphibians, fish. Re-homing with small adoption fee OK. Pet animal parts, blood, or fluids - including to stud/breeding service

This is a craigslist site policy. If you want to sell a pet, animal parts, or breeding services, please do not use craigslist to do so.

small adoption fee may cover things such as vaccinations, microchip registration fees, and basic veterinary wellness examinations. It is also perfectly acceptable to advertise a pet to be given away for free, although we encourage posters to make sure that such pets go to good homes to prevent animal abuse and/or neglect.

We ask readers to flag postings that do not follow these policies.

From:  https://forums.craigslist.org/?act=sticky&ID=40

I have altered the "pet adoption ads" advice. The new information is highlighted.

1)"small adoption fee" does NOT mean "sale price". Pet adoption/rehoming fees must be small, stated in actual $$, and justified by recent vetting expenses (spay/neuter, shots, worming, microchip, etc). You can't charge for market value, the price you paid for the pet, accessories, care/labor, food, or anything except the recent care performed to get the pet ready for adoption. Why? Because craigslist staff asks you to, here: https://forums.craigslist.org/?act=sticky&ID=40

2)You should list your fee in the ad in actual dollars. Saying "rehoming fee applies" isn't enough. You may be flagged on suspicion of being a pet sale in disguise.

3)If you're rehoming a pet for free, make sure you include the word "Free" in both the title and the body of the ad. It's also a good idea to specify all measures you will take to ensure the pet goes to a good home.

4)If you're rehoming a puppy (and kittens soon), it must be at least 8 weeks old to be adopted.. Saying "will be 8 weeks on..." isn't enough. You may be flagged on suspicion of circumventing California, and other state's laws.http://www.animallaw.info/statutes/stuscacalpencode597z.htm

5)Pet adoption ads belong in the "community" section, under "pets". Advertising a pet adoption anywhere else is miscategorized.

6)Pet services ( pet sitter, groomers, etc.) ads belong in the "services" section under "pets". Advertising pet services anywhere else maybe miscategorized.

7)All pet animal parts, blood, or fluids - including but not limited to stud/breeding services are prohibited on craigslist.http://www.craigslist.org/about/prohibited.items

8)Household pets of any kind including but not limited to dogs, cats, primates, cage birds, rodents, reptiles, amphibians, fish, are prohibited to be sold on craigslist. http://www.craigslist.org/about/prohibited.items

9)Rescues and shelters must follow the same rules as everyone. Overposting may become an issue with rescues and shelters that do not play fair.

Possible Animal Abuse Reports Involving craigslist "free to good home" pet ads.

(Picture from Facebook, not part of the MCSO flash alert)
MCSO asks for Public's Help to Investigate Animal Abuse Reports - 07/08/12
The Marion County Sheriff's Office has received a number of disturbing calls and emails from concerned residents reporting that domestic animals are being used for target practice in areas of Marion County.

The reports indicate that people who are responding to Craigslist ads offering free domestic animals to good homes, and then using the animals (specifically cats) for target practice.

We are currently trying to determine if these reports are factual. Some reports are quoting Facebook postings and we have heard that there may be photos supporting the behavior.

Our Office aggressively investigates all reports of animal neglect or cruelty and we take these reports quite seriously.

We provide three avenues for reporting what you know about these crimes:

You can call the Marion County Sheriff's Office Tip line at 503.540.8079, and remain anonymous.

You can directly email whatever information you have to Deputy Mark Ferron at Mferron@co.marion.or.us .

You can send any photos depicting this behavior or showing the animals reportedly shot, to Deputy Ferron or the Public Information Officer, Don Thomson at dthomson@co.marion.or.us. Thomson may also be contacted at 503.932.8002.

If these reports are factual, we need your help to stop these attacks and arrest the offenders.

Cat Scratching Post (Oak & 33rd)

Reply to: zzrmn-1234567890@sale.craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Tired of our cat scratching the ever loving hell out of our couch, my wife and I purchased this fine looking cat scratching post/condo type thing as a hopeful distraction. We brought it home, set it up and waited with bated breath for our cat to transfer her love of scratching the crap out of things from our couch to this beauty of a scratching post. We were delirious with thoughts of how cute our cat would look sleeping inside of one of the two cat cubby-holes. We waited and we waited and we waited.

Apparently our cat has as much interest in this cat scratching thing as she does in learning science. For her, this thing is the opposite of jumping on my face at 3AM while I'm fast asleep. There's just no fun in it for her.

The only thing this scratching post/condo/contraption has done is taught us a few things about our cat:

1) Our cat is a jerk.
2) Our cat doesn't appreciate the things we do for her.
3) Our cat doesn't understand that if this were human sized and located in this same neighbourhood, it would be worth about $750k.
4) Our cat will only destroy things that should not be destroyed (our couch).

Maybe your cat could appreciate a thing such as the nameless cat post pictured below. Maybe your cat is not a jerk like ours is (I doubt it, your cat IS a CAT after all). Maybe, at the very least, your cat won't avoid this thing like it's made out of water and angry dogs. If your cat is such a cat, then hit me up with an email and I'll gladly GIVE you this cat contraption. We just want it out of the house, since it's just another sad reminder for how little respect our cat has for the pet/owner relationship.

As a bonus, I'll toss in that springy ball on a pole type of thing you can see sitting on top of the condo thing in the photo. Apparently swatting that is not nearly as enjoyable as swatting our feet while we try to sleep.

Although we've had this thing for 6 months, it has sadly not been used by the cat.

**Dogs Rule!**

******************************************LOOKS LIKE THIS IS SPOKEN FOR FOLKS! IF THINGS FALL THROUGH, I'LL POST HERE. UNTIL THEN, PLEASE ASSUME IT'S GONE! TYPING IN ALL CAPS REALLY IS THE WORST, I APOLOGIZE.***********************************************************************************

Sometimes advice is golden.

I've seen that in action, actually.
 GAL_Team_Leader >03/14 06:46:49
Here's how it went down.

Everyone showed up at Steve's barn. You know, the one out west of town by the lake.

Anyway, everyone gathered into a big circle, and it was all decided, between 50 or so tech people, that they all liked and supported each others' business. Except for that paranoid guy. That guy, they had to get rid of one way or other.

First, it was real important that the paranoid guy not view flagging as a chance to fix an ad for better success. He MUST believe flagging is a war to be waged. This was easily accomplished, by the use of subliminal message tapes snuck into his bedroom. One of the techs was a former police officer, so the breaking and entering part was easy.

Then, at the barn meeting (disguised from the road to look like a salvation rally so the town wouldn't be suspicious), the secret mantra was chanted. The software program was distributed to each member, and rigged so that if they used it, it wouldn't affect each others' ads, only the ads of the paranoid guy -- the one with the bad ad that wasn't working as well as a well-written ad would. Because, ads that need improvement are just THAT scary.

Anyway, there was the secret handshake, and then music was played, and the drinking began.

Have I left anything out? Oh yeah, Bill got drunk and threw up.

Other than that, it was a pretty run-o-the-mill conspiracy meet.

Top 12 Oddest ‘Missed Connections’ Listings on Craigslist.

Top 12 Oddest ‘Missed Connections’ Listings on Craigslist

You never know when you’ll stumble upon someone who makes your heart flutter or eyes stare. But when you do, you’ll likely find it hard to say hello or ask that person out on a date.
That’s where Craigslist can help. The classified ads website rolled out its Missed Connections feature in 2000 to aid strangers in finding that special someone they recently saw or briefly met but didn’t get a name.
“The idea of getting a second chance, however small, is very powerful,” Craigslist spokeswoman Susan MacTavish Best told Mashable. “And the idea of a love getting a second shot really resonates with people. In the end, Missed Connections is about hope — hope against the odds, the hope of a second chance.”
To relive some of the Missed Connections goodness, Craigslist hand-picked its 12 favorite listings of 2011.
SEE ALSO: Damn You Auto Correct Founder Picks 12 Funniest Texts Ever
The top listings are odd, to say the least. One man sought a woman who sported a “creepy minotaur mask,” and another wanted to find the woman who licked his fingers on a New York City train. The locations are as varied as the strange encounters themselves: a stranger’s bed, at an Occupy Wall Street demonstration, on an airplane 10,000 feet in the air and inside a Walgreens, for example.
“Missed Connections are widely read and loved by romantics everywhere,” MacTavish Best says. “Many people read them for pure entertainment. … People have found girlfriends or boyfriends — some of which have turned into wives or husbands.”
Have you ever used Missed Connections? Did you have any success in finding your crush? Or do you check the Missed Connections listing for pure entertainment purposes?
